Obituary

Marion Grace Seavey
Bangor
Marion Grace Seavey joined her lifelong husband, Floyd in heaven on July 10, 2019, after a brief illness.

Marion was born May 14, 1928 in Centreville New Brunswick. She grew up on a family farm, the proud daughter of a World War I combat veteran. After high school Marion completed a business course at Acadia University in Halifax. She returned to New Brunswick and soon met her husband, Floyd, to whom she was married for 67 years,

After marrying in 1949, she moved to Presque isle, Maine where she stayed home to raise her three children, Brenda, Rayma and Kendall. Eventually she returned to work at Turner Memorial Library. After the family moved to Bangor in 1970, she worked at St. Joseph Hospital and Dahl Chase Laboratories until her retirement in 1998.

Marion always found joy in life's simple pleasures such as tending her garden, travelling with family, summers at camp and the eventual success of her beloved Red Sox. 2004 found her glued to the television for every game.

She was a charitable person who donated to many causes. She found great joy in sponsoring children overseas and enjoyed exchanging letters with them. When mobility became an issue, she enjoyed a good book in her favorite chair.

She is predeceased by her husband Floyd, daughter Brenda, parents Donald and Edna Simonds, brother Charles Simonds and sister Audrey Smalley. She is survived by her children Rayma Chiarell and Kendall Seavey. grandsons Casey Taylor (Betsy), Nathan Chiarell (April) and Jeremy Chiarell and great granddaughters Laura, Ashlynn and Morgan.

A graveside service will be held at Mt Hope Cemetery on July 29th at 11AM. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may send a contribution to OHI, Camp fund 203 Maine Ave, Bangor, ME 04401, in honor of her grandson Jeremy.
