Bangor - John Wilson Lefebvre, 82, of Bangor, Maine succumbed to long-term heart disease in the comfort of his home surrounded by his family on February 2, 2019.
John, one of two children of Dora O'Hearn Lefebvre and Raymond Craig Lefebvre, was born on March 22, 1936.
John graduated from Stevens High School in Rumford, Maine in 1955 and joined the United States Air Force as an air traffic controller, serving a tour of duty in England. John married the love of his life, Pauline, in 1956. He studied business at Husson College, and established a successful insurance agency in 1959, which still operates to date. He was also a member of the Elks Club.
A selfless man, John always put others ahead of himself. He was entirely devoted to his wife, Pauline and centered his life around his family, always being fully supportive and loving of their lives. As a greatly accomplished person, John always put family first. Those who knew him would just sum it up to: Great Husband! Great Father! Great Brother! Great Grandfather! Great Great-Grandfather! And a Great Friend to many! We will all miss you!
The family gives a special thanks to Dr. Verosloff and Todd Bishop at the Bangor VA Clinic and Saint Joseph’s Home Health and Hospice Care.

Dear family members, John will always have a special place in my heart. When I entered the insurance business in 1981 John was one of the first agents I met. I brokered health insurance through his office and we would have lively conversations (once even in the parking lot of Hannaford on Broadway) about issues of the day. His valued involvement with the Maine Association of Life Underwriters is a perfect example of his commitment to the insurance industry. I was proud to call him my friend.
